Books and other sexy stuff #2 - All my Friends are Dead

It's like two years I have this world-famous book in my library, and I keep finding it around, in a lot of shops and online stores. (you can find it at Modcloth, Urban Outfitters, Amazon...)
This illustrated dark comedy makes me laught every time, because of its simplicity and its tragicomic  characters. I totally want to buy the second part, All my friends are still dead.

All my friends are dead and All my friends are still dead are published by Chronicle Books. Click here to read them!

Mid century hide and seek.

Seattle-based Modernist Cat designs modern accessories for your house, and your feline. Perfect for a mid-century lover and cat-addicted like me.

I really like the pet feeder with the bowls... look at the legs! So elegant.

The cabinets can stand alone, stack or sit side-by-side or be used as a place for your modern cat or dog to play, perch or sleep. You can buy them here.

Lettering by Dustin Wallace

Dustin Wallace is an art director at Fossil, and a great lettering designer. His style is inspired by anything vintage, especially from the 50s era.

These are some custom letters he created for his son Asher.

Books and other sexy stuff #1 - Sixty Impossible Things Before Lunch

This book was a gift my boyfriend gave me on a pretty sad day. My taste in books is varied but I certainly tend to prefer books that I can find in museums' gift shops, artistic bookshops, second-hand stores. I really like to read fiction as well, but I'm always more attracted by design. This little masterpiece is called "Sixty Impossible Things Before Lunch" (in the pictures you can see the italian version of the book!)

Totally illustrated and handwritten by Harriet Russel, the book is full of impossible questions, impossible pictures and ideas, such as "Which came first, the chicken or the egg", "How long is a piece of string?" and "What does the universe look like?". I've found it absolutely hilarious and smart.

"Sixty Impossible Things Before Lunch" is published by Edizioni Corraini, 2011.

Lipstick and woodcuts

Lovely wood carvings from Bryn Perrott, West Virginia. This lady is a badass.

I'm in love with her work, I want one of these masterpieces in my future home.

She also owns a pretty cool Flickr profile.
Take a look in her gallery, I can't choose my favorite; the only thing I wish for, are more color options.
